The Three Dragons of Hun Yuan Pai

Welcome to the official page of Miguel Castromán, Director of the Hun Yuan Pai School and disciple of the renowned 9th-degree black belt Grand Master Lin Qing Song (9段大師林青松). Miguel’s martial arts journey commenced at the age of 11 under the guidance of Grand Master Lin Qing Song.

At the early age of 16, Miguel was chosen to represent his country in Lei Tai (擂台) competitions, a full-contact combat modality regulated by I.C.K.F. 中華國術總會 of Taiwan. His master, Lin Qing Song, a two-time Chinese and Asian champion in Leitai tournaments during the ’70s, served as the inspiration behind this remarkable achievement.

Born in 1949 in Yin Lin, Republic of China, Lin Qing Song began practicing Yang-style Tai Ji Quan at the age of 6. His martial arts journey solidified at 16 when he joined the Taiwanese Marines, initiating his training in Tae Kwo Do. By the age of 20, already in charge of instructors at the official Marine and Navy school, he delved into the study of Shaolin Boxing (少林拳) and Chinese medicine.

Grand Master Lin Qing Song played a pivotal role in introducing the Taiwanese Guo Shu style to Argentina and was appointed president of the ACKF – Argentinian Chinese Kuoshu Federation (阿根廷中華國術總會).

At the age of 15, Miguel Castromán began studying Southern styles Wing Chun (詠春拳) and Buddha Fist (佛家拳) simultaneously with Grand Master Rodolfo Polich. Rodolfo Polich, educated in the United States and a disciple of Grand Master 粟小虎 (Siuk Siu Fu) also known as William Tzu or William Siuk in Manhattan, New York, introduced the almost extinct Buddha Fist style to Argentina in 1976. In 1981, he accepted Miguel Castromán as a student, and two years later, they opened a martial arts academy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For a decade, Miguel studied under the guidance of Grand Master Rodolfo Polich.

In 1992, Miguel Castromán began studying Northern Chinese styles under the tutelage of Grand Master Ma Xian Feng (马先峰师傅). Grand Master Ma Xian Feng is an expert in Xing Yi Quan (形意拳), Bagua Zhang (八卦掌), Tai Ji Quan (太极拳), Yi Quan (意拳), and Shaolin Quan (少林拳). Miguel completed his studies with Grand Master Ma Xian Feng in 2001.
